    Overrated battery life

I recently bought the weed-eater and blower combo. Charged the batteries for more than ten hours. I used the edger feature first and the battery died less than 30 mins. I switched to the other battery for the blower and it died as well in less than 15 mins of usage. Recharged them again overnight and this morning tried to use them and again less than 30mins both died out.
    Pros:

Easy to snap in and take out of the edger and blower.

    Cons:

No long battery life! Need to work on extending the 18v battery life for longer use.

Just bought this new 1.5 18 volt battery for a replacement to my Pole Saw, the original battery did ok but finally stopped working, so after asking B&D for some info bought this upgraded one, what a difference, I just cut down a dead tree about 25/30 ft tall and a good 5" in diameter, whizzed right through it and still had enough power left to cut almost all of it in 2' pieces.
    Pros:

As mentioned, lots of power (whole lot more than original) battery

    Cons:

    Nothing

18 V weed wacker uses batteries too quickly, barely 15 minutes.
    Pros:

Lack of cord makes remote usage easy.

    Cons:

Batteries run down too quickly. For the cost it is a major disappointment, I have 3 batteries but will be using the corded model for work around the house!

I like the convenience of cordless, the tool seems to be functioning pretty good, but, the batteries are not up to the advertised life span
    Pros:

Convenience of cordless, light weight of tool

    Cons:

Shortness of life span, and number of re-charges for the batteries, does not match the company's claims

Decent battery for the cost, but power and battery life needs to be revamped

Have several yard tools that came with two batteries. I have the ability to keep five batteries charged at once. I have a corner lot and can just get the work done before all batteries run down. Quick charges help if I need a partial charge to finish.
    Pros:

No cords to drag out and no mixing gas and oil.

    Cons:

Batteries have a short life span or number of recharges. Black and Decker needs to come up with a Lithum-ion battery that is no more expensive then the Ni-cad, or at least not a whole lot more expensive.

with this battery tried adding on to our rabbit hutch, using saw with battery able to only make two or three cuts of about 30 inches each before it dies
    Pros:

lots of power in the begining

    Cons:

drains to quick when using saw will probably go to a corded saw but use battery with drill driver and light

Generally satisfactory for short, smaller jobs

I use the batteries for a drill / driver, weed trimmer and handheld vacuum. The batteries are quite heavy vs the tools being used. They take too long to charge, and cannot be used effectively / immedately after charging - - must be allowed to cool for best performance. I find they last for about 20-25 minutes steady usage.
    Pros:

    No electric cords.

    Cons:

Weight of batteries; limited life per use; must plan ahead to ensure they're charged up and cooled off before using. Expensive to purchase individual batteries / replacements.

Pretty Good, but could be Better

I originally bought the outdoor items (blower, trimmer, pole saw) and ended up with 5 batteries. This was good as I could always have a battery charged and ready to go when one of the others ran out of power. However, over the course of the year, the batteries seemed to hold less of a charge and run out of power faster and faster. No problem I thought, I'll just get a couple to replace them. My gosh ... what prices they want for these batteries. And, they don't even give you a cost adjustment if you trade in your old battery "core". I'm sorry to say that I'll be tossing all of the yard tools into the bin, along with the batteries and go back to using the good old reliable corded electrical tools. It's a shame because I really did like using the cordless ones but black and decker needs to reexamine this and think about lowering the price of their batteries and also offering an exchage price for the old batteries when new ones are purchased. :(
    Pros:

    Being cordless is nice.

    Cons:

Batteries are too expensive and don't last long enough after repeated charges. B&D needs to offer a battery exchange program when someone wants to purchase new batteries to replace the old, defunct batteries.
