Lightwieght string trimmer however the battery does not last long, maybe 15 minutes of work out of a charge. Does not do well with thick or tall grass

Bad experience with this product, brought it home and charged it for 24 hours like stated and only got about 15 minutes out of the battery.
    Pros:

    Lightweight Battery Operated

    Cons:

    Battery life

Poor choice as the battery lasts only 15 minutes after a full (24 hour) charge.

Must schedule your trimming over several days as the battery life is so short. Consider how much work you have to do before purchasing.
    Pros:

    None

    Cons:

Customer service says it all. "Unfortunately there is not a stronger battery available for the trimmer. The batteries that come with the trimmer should each run approximately 12-15 minutes on a full charge, but there is no battery that runs longer than that. I apologize for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you. "

    LOVE THIS TRIMMER!!!!

We just bought this trimmer to replace a corded electric we have had for years. We love the fact that it is cordless and you can use anywhere. Love the fact that it has a flower guard, so you can use it against your wood fence, or any other obstacle, without gouging the objects. Also you don't have to bump the cord when it breaks. We charged the battery to the specifications, and although we do not have a big yard, it has more than enough power for our usage. We have tried the edger, but our grass is not that thick yet, so it's hard to give a proper critique.
    Pros:

-it's cordless, easy to use, lots of power, the auto feed spool for the string, and at the twist of the wrist becomes an edger. the price was right too!!

    Cons:

    none so far

Nice and easy to use, Although it is not ment to cut thick grass. Seems to tangle grass either way.Worth what you pay for.But i'll probley end up getting something diffrent.Just does not cut grass the best.
    Pros:

light weight, easy charge with wall mount.

    Cons:

Not too good at the cutting. And a big grass tangler.

    Not powerful

The concept of a cordless trimmer is nice, but this trimmer's battery lost a good deal of capacity after only 1 year. I used to be able to trim my whole yard easily on one charge, but not even close anymore. Also, it never had a ton of power in the first place; it trims grass blades fine but struggles even to cut through thin St Augustine runners.
    Pros:

    Cordless is nice to have

    Cons:

Not powerful enough for general yard use.

    I love this thing!

I'm a big fan of this cordless trimmer. I had a gas powered trimmer that was old and difficult to start. I got fed up and purchased this cordless one. I've been very impressed. I love the automatic feed spool. I have had this for almost two years and haven't had to replace the spool yet. I have a large yard and it's well landscaped, so I don't have a lot of heavy duty weeds to trim. If you do, this might not be powerful enough for you. If I need to trim thicker weeds and grass, I have to work it a little. That's especially true if your battery pack doesn't have a full charge. I also purchased an additional battery which is great. I can trim my yard twice with a single charge, though, on the second time I can tell that the battery level is low. I always keep the second battery charged for a quick change. I wouldn't recommend this for an edger. I don't think it could handle much edging.
    Pros:

Ease of use. It's cordless, so it starts every time!

    Cons:

    None.

    Charging for the First Time

After trying to hang it on the charging base, I can see the problem the previous user had with the pin. It seems a bit flimsy and loose to the touch. I hope I don't have the same issue with breakage. If it does break within the warranty period, B&D should replace it at a local authorized repair shop. It's too cost prohibitive to send the unit back. After I use it I'll write another post, good or bad.
    Pros:

Can't beat the price of this item, and I believe it's environmentally friendly if the batteries are recycled.

    Cons:

Flimsy charging pin when hanging up, a little awkward.

works good for small yards but dose not last long for the money

Bought the trimmer because it was lightweight and I could handle it long enough to trim my small yard. I have used it for part of last summer and two times this summer and the pin to charge it has broken off in the pin hole. Josh, the phone person was not too helpful with his suggestion to drive the trimmer or ship it to Indy for service. Way too expensive for no more use than you get from it.
    Pros:

Lightweight, good for small jobs, hangs on the wall and out of the way.

    Cons:

charge pin breaks off in the charge hole. For what the trimmer costs and the number of uses I got from it, it definitely is not worth the money. When I contacted Black and Decker there was nothing they could do for me but I could drive or ship the broken trimmer to Indy to the service center to have them look at it, Will replace with another but probably not a Black and Decker.

    Great trimmer for one property

Trimmer works great for trimming and light edging. Has automatic line feed that works well, but not awesome.
    Pros:

easy to use, no gas, work very well for one property. Mounts on wall so its out of the way.

    Cons:

That is does not have a battery, that I can take out and put a new one in when it is out of power. Battery is consealed. No rapid carger. An other thing is, the power only last for about one and a half propertys. I can only get mine and half my mothers lawn done. We only have 1/4 acre lots. It not like I am trying to trim 5 acres of yard. Over all good product, If you are going to use it on your own small yard.
