Trims grass and weeds very nicely and has good amount of power

This trimmer works great and has plenty of power to cut grass and weeds. It's very easy to use. Despite what most of the other reviews say, the spool isn't hard to restring if you know what you're doing. But I don't like that I have to restring it so often. Doesn't hold very much and goes through string way to fast. The other thing is the hole that the shaft for the head goes through wares and the head starts to wobble and eventually strips the teeth off the plastic gear that it's connected to......I like the trimmer but I don't like that it only lasts for one summer.
    Pros:

The dual strings are nice and has a surprising amount of power.

    Cons:

I don't like how much string it goes through with the auto feed system and I don't like that the plastic gear connected to the head wares out so fast.

    Worst ever

When b&d is good, nothing can top them for quality at a reasonable price. However, this is the worst. Same thing, auto string feed does not work properly. If I had not purchased at a year end sale in 2013 I would return it. It will make me rethink purchasing more b&d products.
    Pros:

    Cordless

    Cons:

Words cannot describe how poor the ring feed is!

    Good product for the price.

I had a little trouble putting new line into it, but it was my fault. I assumed that arrow on spool indicated direction of spin, like my Toro trimmer and I was wrong. It was telling what direction to wind new line. Once I corrected this, I never had problems again.
    Pros:

Light weight and easy to use.

    Cons:

The guard could be bigger, so that I don't get hit with debris on my ankles.

    Worked for 5 minutes!

I bought it last year, but never took it out of the box until this spring 2014. It worked fine -- for five minutes! The line got tangled and I didn't know how to rewind it (I tried twice). I came to the B&D Web site to find the manual, and saw these reviews. It seems that a lot of folks had the same trouble I encountered.
    Pros:

    It looks nice (?)

    Cons:

It doesn't work. The string does not feed correctly, and I cannot get it back to where it will work.

    WON'T LAST!

Right after exactly a year (average 10 minutes per 2 weeks ), the motor stopped working completely, before that the spooling reel was cracked (the thin plastic would not handle the rotation force! )
    Pros:

    Very practical and convenient

    Cons:

Built /designed not to last as B&D's products in the 80's and 90's used to be(reminded me of the Hewlett & Packard's products of 80's vs. nowaday!)

    Nice Handling little trimmer

Nice and compact. But after the initial load of string its never advanced the string right. I believe I followed the reload instructions correctly. Done it three times still no advancement. Bought actual B&D String, still no advance.
    Pros:

    Not sure.

    Cons:

Does not advance the string .

    Very Disapppointed

I needed it for edge trimming in a fairly small yard. It worked well for about 4 uses and then the power head (the mechanism into which the string spool snaps) can loose and I could not find a way to tighten it. Basically it's an expensive throw away.
    Pros:

    cheap

    Cons:

    cheap

    Works for me everytime

This has worked very well for me since day one...I honestly don't know why all the bad comments - I've abused this thing and it's still working fine. I've had it for 2 years and do a LOT of trimming, and never had a problem. The only thing they could do better is the line: it unraveled one time when I was putting the spool in and it was very frustrating to get it re-wound. I figured it out: keep the spool intact, and at the when it's in it the housing, unwind the line so it's really long (8-10 inches or so), put it in the two slots and you'll be fine.
    Pros:

    it's really durable.

    Cons:

redesign the spool do it doesn't unravel

    Not worth it...

Good power for 2 string trimmer. Lasted only 8 1/2 months. Motor froze up and tried to return to Sears with warranty/coverage. Sears didn't sell same product like it anymore. Had to wait for 'gift card' from Sears 2 weeks. Meanwhile went to Home Depot and purchased model GH3000. Happy now. If something goes wrong in 2 years I can get replacement right away. No waiting...
    Pros:

    2 Strings

    Cons:

Motor did not last. Even previous trimmer lasted 4 years...

Overall, a lightweight and versatile trimmer/edger. Little difficult to restring dual lines.

Purchased this product hoping it would last for a few years. It lasted just one year; the trigger/switch went out. Could not locate a replacement trigger on line. Frustrated so went out and purchased a B&D GH90 as a replacement. Hopes this lasts longer than 1 year.
    Pros:

    Lightweight, efficient, easy to use

    Cons:

Did not last. Replacement part not found on internet.
